There have been times when an insufficient or disconnected ground wire brought problems like this. Might be a good idea to check and confirm all the ground wires starting at the battery and going on to the sheet metal of the vehicle.are connected and in good condition. There is always a possibility you might have forgotten or overlooked one of them in the process of replacing the water pump. Also , a good idea to check everything you might have moved in the process, never hurts !
Thanks, i had the battery test ok, is there supposed to be continuity between the neg bat terminal and neg end going to the fuse box? I have continuity in all ground points i checked thus far except there i noticed its the loom the is going to the ecu
I hope your last post has a typo in it, because,,,,,,,,,,,,, the negative terminal of the battery should connect to the engine and sheet metal of the vehicle.
Only the POSITIVE ( + ) TERMINAL OF THE BATTERY SHOULD CONNECT TO THE FUSE PANEL !
Let us know if the cables were reversed before going any further !!

Sorry for being vague yes the neg battery terminal is connected to the frame from their it goes into a loom that goes towards the ecu, the fuse box in the engine bay has two electrical wires going into it one is yellow one is red. What i did was i put one of the multimeter leads on the neg battery terminal and the other lead from the multimeter to the yellow one on the fuse box. Is that irrelevant?
