I have a 22 450 I am thinking of getting tuned. I was thinking of buying a second ECM and having it flashed to the truck before. That way I can keep it as a back up if something would happen to the tuned one, I could go back to stock. Would there be any issues of having 2 ECMs?

 

I haven't come across anyone who might have tried it.
Wonder if mileage has any effect. Would appreciate your reply as to how well the idea worked, thanks.

There is a keep alive function in the PCM and sometimes some memory is lost when battery cables are disconnected. Not sure if the same would happen when PCM is unplugged from battery power.
