Won't start!!!!

Default Won't start!!!!

I have a 1997 f150 with the v6..and i have changed the battery, solenoid and the starter is less than a year old and when i turn the key, i get nothing but a clicking noise, tapped on the starter thinking maybe it was froze, and nothing, and battery is brand new and solenoid is brand new..

any suggestions????

If you have a test lite or voltmeter make sure you are getting the voltage down at the starter solenoid small wire. If not backtrack and see if it is coming out of the primary solenoid up in the engine compartment when you turn the key to start.
Is it safe to assume the vehicle has no anti-theft system on it?

yea it doesn't have anti-theft...i mean like i said, the battery and solenoid i just bought today and the starter is less than a year old...

Might try and test/jump the starter right at the source taking everything out of the diagnostic and to prove out the starter. Who's reman starter was it? If a manual trans, be careful to make sure its in neutral, brakes set, wheels chocked. Auto, same cautions...

Well come to find out the guy i bought the truck off when he put the new starter on the truck had no clue what he was doing and crossed the wires on the starter which screwed the gears up inside and the guy told him he was gonna have to limp the starter till he got a new one and never said anything to me till i talked to the guy that checked the starter for him..so off to test the starter and see...thanks for all the help..i will let you know if it was the starter or not...
