A/C Stuck on Sometimes
Hi,
I have a 2011 F150 XLT that when starting the air conditioner comes on. This happens without the A/C switch enabled or the defrost enabled. Sometimes it goes off on it's own. I disable it by enablling the A/C switch and disabling a few times.
Is there a relay possibly that is intermittent? I appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks,
billgyrotech

I don't know about any help or advice, but something to consider.
Once the A/C relay is located, if a meter or test light is connected to the relay activating circuit ,you would see if the relay is being activated by something in the control circuit or if the relay itself is self activating. Depending on what I find there will determine how far back in the circuit I would need to check.
If you don't have the equip or knowledge to pin down just where the problem is originating , you might need to have a shop check it out.

In the engine compartment is where the relays are located.
Under the power distribution box (Fuse panel) cover it should tell you which relay is for controlling the A/C. That info is also in your owner's manual.
There are usually 2 or more relays with the same part # in that panel, you might try switching 2 and see what changes , if anything.
