Default My First Ford!

Hey Everyone!

I purchased my first ford, a 1999 Police Interceptor with 91K miles.

I have only every owned GM. So, I have a lot of work to do. Car was a police car in California and then sold to Prescott as a Library patrol car or something so all the holes are plugged, has carpet. I noticed a few rust areas at the rear, top where there is a rain channel. Anyone have this issue?

Im picking up a push bumper but with no bolts to bolt it on the bumper. Anyone know what size so I can pick them up at Ace Hardware. I also need drivers side spotlight.

Thanks!

Chris

Welcome aboard Chris..

Can you post a few images of the rust area's for a better understanding?

Not sure about the bolts, but should be pretty easy to range..

Will do! I have a lot of detailing to do. Last owner never heard of water I guess lol.

With only 91k miles, the transmission feels a little weird at slow speeds shifting in the early gears. It's full and fluid is red. Can it possibly be shot already?

And those holes that were plugged? Are those the bullet holes?

Sorry, I am picking the low hanging fruit again!

LOL, no, they are the siren, antenna holes.

Would any push bumper fit a 1999 Crown? Or are there differences in years?

I think from 98 to at least 2005 should work. Maybe even newer with a minor modification maybe.

I decided to buy a new Go Rhino 5036 push bumper and be done with it.

Just went to the junk yard and picked up some misc interior pieces, a new grille, new steering wheel with cruise buttons and cruise control servo.

When I got the steering wheel off the junker the clock spring came apart and unraveled everywhere so I didnt take it with the steering wheel. Im used to older vehicles and am not sure what its for? Is it for the cruise?

One more thing, the cable for the cruise control servo is in excellent shape expect the part that connects to the throttle.. its broken where the screw goes and connects it to the throttle. Are there replacement parts for that?

Thanks fellas!
