Default 2007 Ford Escape Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor

My daughter had a 2007 ford escape. Check engine light is on and she was told it was the fuel tank pressure sensor. So I opened the tank access under the rear drivers seat..... But the part seems to be like heat srunk together. Any thoughts or helpful tips on how to change this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You could test or try a new gas cap. Exactly what code is being set?

Otherwise, take it to a qualified shop for diagnosis if you do not feel comfortable working with it.

When you get burned enough times relying on someone else's diagnosis you learn to go by what you find.
In order to do that we need to know what code(s) were found.
You might be in over your head without a capable scan tool to do a complete diagnosis.
There are some special tools you most likely don't have to effect a decent replacement , if that is really necessary.
