2014 Escape 2.0L Died out of no where and won't run
My wife was on the freeway when the escape died out of nowhere and wont restart. It cranks and will "run" but it misses horribly and dies after a few seconds if it starts at all. It misses and knocks so bad it shakes the car. Shows 0 trouble codes. I have FORScan just don't really know what to look for.
List of things I have checked:
-Not much gas so I drained what was left and put good gas in and purged the rest from the line.
-Battery is charged and good. (was dead when I picked it up due to trying to get it to restart)
-Low side fuel pump is good making about 60psi
-High side fuel is good making something like 1500psi
-Plugs and coils changed less than 10K ago when I had to replace the turbo because the vacuum pump blew up and destroyed it.
-Pulled the valve cover off and didn't see anything abnormal as far as wiped lobes or timing chain loose
-Looked for any chafed or melted wires
It sounds like the timing is horribly off. But I am not sure why. I don't want to just load up the parts canon and fire away but if some one can give me some direction I would greatly appreciate it. One of my thoughts would be crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensors. Is there a way to check these? Is there somewhere else I should be looking? As I said I have FORScan so if someone can give me some inputs that I should graph and provided that would aid in diagnosis I will
Thanks for any help in advance.
