1985 F150 Fuel Problem. Please help!!
Well, I got the selector valve installed properly and added the filters and its still doing the same thing
When its in the lower gears and I push the gas it has no power and almost dies, it just bogs out. Then when I parked, it just about died. When I get to the higher gears (if I can get it going that fast) it seems to run ok, but still not right. I know its not the pumps in the tanks because it does the same thing on both tanks, and I highly doubt they went out at the same time. I can hear them come on when I turn the key too. My only other thought is that it is my high pressure pump between the reservoir and the engine. Is this a possibility? Please help! I'm becoming very frustrated trying to get this figured out and having to borrow peoples cars to get around. And does anyone know how I can check my pressure from that pump before I go buy it and find out that its not the problem. Thank you guys

Ummmm, no. Would that be causing it? And wouldnt that go away after driving a bit? I drove it about 10 miles since I changed the valve and added the filters. But it seems like its doing the exact same thing as it was before I even changed that stuff. On another forum someone is saying it could be my high pressure pump, or my catalytic converter.
I would suggest that you invest in a fuel pressure gauge before considering any more additional expense. Once you know if you have the correct pressure available , or not, then you can decide to spend what you need to spend in order to correct the fuel problem, if it is a fuel problem. Just to keep throwing parts at it gets expensive and frustrating if you don't replace the defective part, again if there is a defective part.
Earlier you stated after you replaced the valve it ran fine and now it won't run good at all. This would lead me to believe you may have more than one problem.
