Yes! there is a million layers of electrical tape and many splices and some exposed spots that I have fixed. What I think may be the issue is that I have no ground coming from the negative terminal. I'll take a picture tomorrow but the blck/white wire is coming off the negative and should be grounded. It's a headache for sure!!

update! I grounded the ungrounded wires and fixed some sketchy connections. The resistance went away and the plugs got soaked. I tested the tps and it was still bad. Replaced that, cleaned the plugs and it started up! Then, I went to start it again and nothing. The plugs are soaked again and the tps is not getting signal. What the heck is going on?

The injectors are supplied power anytime the key is on.
What we need to know now is; Are they getting a ground signal all the time when cranking ? .They should only get a ground when the piston comes up on the compression stroke.
Something you might also try to help answer this question.,
If you remove and dry 2 or 3 plugs , remove the fuse that powers the injectors and crank the engine over a few times., then check those 3 plugs to see if they are wet or dry..
If wet ,,those injectors are shot and need to be replaced, all of them ! Let's wait and see what you get.

There should be a fuse to protect those components.
You can unplug those injectors, but when we play around too much with those plugs they get loose and become another problem.

Id like to pull the fuse ... do you know where it's located?
also, this is spliced into the tan/red injector wiring.... hard to see but it looks like a diode/ resistor (not sure about terminology)

There should not be anything in the wire from the fuse panel/ECA to the wire feeding the injectors. If there is remove it.

I need to make sure of what set up is on your vehicle.

Does it have 2 injectors on the throttle body or does it have one injector for each cylinder..

Normally we see these things when we are looking at the vehicle, but when not being there , we have to rely on operator's description..

Is it possible to get the engine code from the sticker on the vehicle. It may be there and maybe not, age and too many hands .

I got it going! Cut that out from the wire, spliced it back and replaced one plug where the ceramic looked damaged.
Its running a little rough, I will fill it up and add some cleaner and drive it a bit, see if there are any more codes but I guess the real mystery was why anyone would f**k with the wiring that bad
Im considering cutting some other weird wiring additions out but I plan to wait and see
