Default FORscan and 2000 F-150 5.4 2v Diagnosing Assistance Please

As the title says. I have FORscan, laptop and connector. Along with a 2000 F-150 5.4ltr 2v 4x4 truck. The truck is a recent purchase for with no knowledge of it's history. P.O. not mechanical and basically just drove it. When I bought it they had bought a set (8) of coils. FORscan told me it had a miss on cyls. #6 and #8. They had replaced those 2 coils with no change. I replaced those sparks plugs the #8 miss went away (#6 miss was still there). I replaced #6 fuel injector which caused no change. Can someone help me use the the FORsacn to find my problem without having to start getting mechanical ? From my experience (I'm 62 and have been mechanical since 13) it doesn't show any of the typical lack of compression signs, popping out the exhaust or intake leading to a valve diagnosis, no smoking out the exhaust, out the exhaust or excessive blow by in the crankcase either. Motor sounds as if there are no mechanical problems.

Thanks, Ray

Any assistance would be Appreciated !

P.S. I work 3rd shift and sleep a lot so I'm not online much, so please bare with me.

Thanks!

If the misfire is constant , it should be easier to pin down.

Many times the contacts on the coil plug connectors get spread and don't make good contact.
Can you look that over closely and at least eliminate that as a possibility ?

Although it's kind of difficult with 3>4" of silicone/rubber hanging off the end (like trying to push a wet noodle) they seem to be tight. And since #'s 6 & 8 are new coils, one would think they aren't spread.

We aren't talking about the pins on the coils, but the pins inside the plugs that plug onto the coil.
