2013 Ford Escape
I paid cash for a 2013 Ford Escape from a car lot and started having problems right away. The car lot replaced several sensors. I mean several. The car would drive okay about a week or two and then have issues again. The temperature sensor was replaced by the car lot twice. After replacing them twice along with the others they replaced I was on my own. I took the car to a local shop and paid $700 and they replaced the sensor yet again. After the car started having issues that time I went online to search for recalls. I found out that the 2013 Escape had some electrical issues and wait for it issues with the temperature. I was thrilled because I only wanted a decent running car and I thought this was the remedy. I put my vin in and it wasn't one of the vins for the issues I was experiencing even though I had more than one recal on my vehicle. I contacted my local Ford dealership and found out that if the Vins didn't match the ones from the recall list they could fix it but it would be up to me to get the Ford Corporation to reimburse me. iBecause they could not approve it to be fixed without matching vins at a local level. I called Ford and their customer service must be outsourced in other words someone answers the phone but you get no help. I found out the defect could have been a result of something that went wrong while the car was being manufactured and wanted to know how I could find out...the customer service representative did not have the answer. I asked to speak to someone in management or to request I be contacted and found out they didn't have the ability to do that. I did get the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration where I filed complaint #11588938. I found out later that complaints and recalls normally happen after several (and by that I mean to way too many to ignore) customers make the same complaint. I looked online for contact information for Ford Leadership; I am very good at finding information online by the way but I found no contact numbers or email that would not lead me to general customer service and rout me back to an outsourced person. I found something on the website that said if I register I could be approved to send someone in management a direct message and guess what? I never received an approval. My dad use to say that Ford stood for Found On (the) Road Dead. I am beginning to believe it and what's worse is I think they know it and that is why I found no resolution and it is so hard to contact someone within the company. If you are having issues with your Escape please file a complaint with The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. If enough of us complain maybe they will issue a recall and Ford can take accountability.

I understand your frustration, your huge paragraph said it all.
But what was the problem of your escape which you still haven't told us. No start no crank?
Why you or they replaced the temperature sensors? There are quite a few of that, which one do you know? is it the one for the gauge?

Yes, my paragraph is huge but my frustration is bigger. It is not cranking now but it may just need to be jumped off. I had it towed during the last episode because it was dangerous. It would crank and then drive about a half a block or less and then the temperature Guage would say hot and it would start driving about 2 miles an hour.
I think it's best not to drive it at all, get a scanner and see what codes you get, then start it up and just idling, get the temperature reading, the ECT (engine coolant temperature).
Other things you can check without driving it is to check for any leaks, check your coolant level as well.

I suspect from what you describe , whoever is replacing temp sensors is doing only part of the job of good diagnosis. What needs to be done is , verify the info coming from the sensor is rational, and is it getting to the PCM then is the PCM doing it's job correctly.
Poor connections can interfere with this path and can cause all kinds of problems.
A good shop might cost a few bucks more , but look at what it is costing now and comes with nothing better than continued frustration.
Of course there is that little problem of where the parts came from, MANY are defective right out of the box !!
