Position the mirror glass ‘all the way’ rotated in and aimed up, opening up a gap at the mirror glass outer side between the glass and housing.
Using a suitable length flat blade screwdriver separate the mirror upper glass from the mirror motor.
If working on the drivers side,, screwdriver inserted at about the 8:00 position,, passenger side about 4:00 position.
The number and location of the electrical connectors to disconnect will vary based on mirror option content.
Disconnect the exterior mirror upper glass electrical connectors.
