Why didn't you tell us you have obd1 scanner since part 1 of your thread from the beginning.
Don't forget to download the DN-ALL.pdf previously if you need to go further than DN22.
I absolutely forgot to mention about that since I start from scratch and got a really good scanner from Canadian tire it came with the app so will show service bulletins and other thing like live data and recalls , not only this I did try to clear the code but unfortunately it didn’t clear even it plug in with the ecm .
Most scanners will not tell very much with a 1992 year vehicle.
You are going to need a real mechanic that knows the system to determine what is really going on.
Good to know . There some people who jumper wire trick to get the check engine to start flashing sometimes you can these obd1 scanner made for 86 to 95 Ford and Lincoln and Mercury models
I Will have to check if the EVP sensor is any good and I have cleaned the egr valve before but I am going to check anyway just for heck of it
A lot of people do not know that there is built in to the vehicle computer an automatic program called "Dynamic Testing" which when initiated, will run a series of tests including the EGR system. When it finished testing, it would provide any codes to help diagnostic work.
I used to have the tool and directions, but will need to search for them.
It required the mechanic/technician move the steering wheel left and right, step on the brake and release it and then it would increase engine RPM and continue to run several tests automatically, then provide any trouble codes flashing the check engine light, found during the testing.
Twenty years ago that tool only cost around $26.00.
There are other ways to get the codes but you need an analog meter to perform that method which I believe is explained on YOU TUBE.
That’s good to know my code reader has the ford obd1 adaptor and not only you can do the key on the engine off. It actually has this thing where you can do key on engine on when checking for codes which I’m gonna try then do this trick and see if that’s gonna pop up any codes that I am going to replace the intake and coolant temperature sensors while I am at it and see how it goes .
